Founder of Dr. Dei's Physical Therapy Centre

Dr. Deidra C. Morrison is a board certified physical therapist that is passionate about helping people live strong and healthy lives without pain. She strongly believes that if people "Just Keep Moving", they will have the quality of life that they deserve and participate in the activities they love for a lifetime.

She founded Dr. Dei’s Physical Therapy because she believes she can provide a higher quality of care than large physical therapy “factories” where quality patient care is undervalued. Physical therapists are treated like machines spending 15 or 20 minutes with their patients, before pushing them into the hands of a technician. YOU deserve better because you are a person, not a number. No one wins in that scenario.

Dr. Morrison decided she wanted to become a physical therapist at the age of 15 after a career day in her 10th grade Biology class. The physical therapist made such an impression on her, that every step of her academic career put her on the path to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Dr. Morrison attended Virginia State University in Petersburg, VA as a Biology Pre-Medicine major and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree of Science in 2002. She attended Howard University in Washington, DC and earned her Master of Physical Therapy Degree in 2005 followed by her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2012.

She has worked in various healthcare settings in several states including VA, MD, Washington D.C., WV and FL. Dr. Morrison specializes in Women’s Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy (i.e. urinary incontinence, pregnancy and post-partum pain) and Vestibular Rehabilitation.   She has undergone additional training in both specialized areas of physical therapy.

In addition to the specialties mentioned above, she is also an expert in treating patients with musculoskeletal conditions (i.e. back pain) and neurological conditions (i.e. Parkinson’s disease) from all age groups within the outpatient setting using advanced manual therapy techniques, Pilates, Yoga and Tai Chi style individualized physical therapy programs.

Dr. Morrison is a married, mother of a 6 year son and 4 year old daughter. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc and the Corresponding Secretary of Bay Lake Elementary School PTO.

She loves playing soccer, Rock Band and dance games with her family. Her hobbies also include running and pilates to stay strong and healthy.  When she was in Physical Therapy School her classmates called her the “Exercise Nazi” and when she was in Undergraduate School she was a Virginia State University Woo-Woo (cheerleader). She loves to go back and cheer at VSU’s Homecoming every year!

Dr. Morrison is a person who loves life and people. She loves helping people live the life they want to live and she always does that with a smile.
